As Christians, I believe that we should honor the Lord by physically leaving our homes and belongings to worship Him in His house. We don’t deserve to be in his presence, but because of God’s perfect love, He enjoys our presence, and we should always respect him because of that. As humans, we ought not to believe that we’re too busy to go to worship him at church, or because we don’t understand the point of worship whatsoever.
Now, do you believe that you would be able to live your whole life without a spouse, or any kind of special relationship with someone you dearly love and appreciate? I know that I wouldn’t! God designed us to have deep fellowship with people around us. But, we definitely don’t go to church just to see friends. And I am not saying to never make/have friends at the local church, or reject everything they’re trying to say. But, I know of some people who really believe that joining a church means to only have friendships with people there. And personally I believe that they are 50 percent incorrect. Why? Because if you only go to church just because of friends, do you even have another reason to go? If not, I pray that you will not be offended, or be put to shame, but to think deeply about this: ˆ Why do I go to church? Do I go just for friends? Or do I go 95 percent for God, and only 5 percent for friends? (Now please do not forget that we still need to love/respect these people who have different beliefs about the true meaning of church!)
